Do you offer a sliding scale?

I believe everyone should have access to therapy, so I reserve a limited number of pro-bono sessions based on financial hardship. Please reach out to me via e-mail to inquire. {I currently do not have any openings for pro-bono appointments. You may request to be added to my wait-list for one of these slots.}

Do you accept my insurance?

I do not work directly with insurance companies at this time.  Insurance reimbursement requires me to submit a mental health diagnosis to verify that you have a “disorder.” While diagnoses are often beneficial in directing treatment, I do not believe all clients are disordered.

Evidence shows that the therapeutic relationship with your counselor is the #1 predictor of positive therapy outcomes. However, insurance companies often provide a narrow list of approved providers, limiting your ability to choose a specific provider that best meets your needs.

If you have an insurance plan that covers out-of-network providers, I am happy to provide you with a superbill (monthly invoice) that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance plan directly to verify coverage.

Should I schedule a consultation?

I always recommend that potential clients schedule initial consultations with 2-3 therapists so they can choose the one that feels like the best fit for them, since the therapeutic relationship with your counselor is the #1 predictor of positive therapy outcomes. A good fit is important. I offer a free 15-minute consultation for all new clients.
